Mr. Basuyi Aliu, National Treasurer

Basuyi Aliu was born in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He grew up in the compound of Chief Obazuaye, his maternal grandfather in Mission Road, Benin City.

He attended St. Matthew Primary School and Edo Boys High School, both in Benin City. Worked many years with the Ministry of Lands and Survey as Land Inspector before relocating to the United State in 1984. He continued his education at Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi. where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Followed thereafter by a Master of Professional Accountancy.

Mr. Aliu educational background earned him opportunities to work as Club Accountant with Club Corporation of America – University Club, Jackson, Mississippi; Financial Analyst with Federal Express, Memphis, Tennessee; Internal Auditor and Senior Financial Accountant with City of Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee.

He was a founding member and President of Nigeria Friends and Family Club of Memphis Tennessee, a multi-ethnic/cultural Nigeria organization. An active member of Edo United Association of Ohio, where he held the position of President for 11 years. My specialties include but not limited to Month/Year end financial reporting, Fund/Cash flow management, and Account reconciliations.
